- 200 HOUR YOGA TEACHER TRAINING -
FOR THOSE WANTING TO DEEPEN KNOWLEDGE AND
LEARN THE WHOLENESS OF THIS PRACTICE
This is a thorough course covering 200 hours of modules of the practice of yoga. The course will run over 6 months September to February 2021 to allow for time and space to absorb and learn. The requirements for joining the course are that you feel ready to step deeper into the journey of the practice, ready to learn and take time to be within the practice. This is the perfect course for those who love the practice and have had a dedicated connection to practice for 2 years or more. On passing the course you will then be a 200hr registered yoga teacher and can take the knowledge wherever you wish.
**Please note this course is an in person course, run through Mudra Yoga London held at the
Scouts Hut a beautiful community space on Bouverie Road N16.

The course is an in person course, hosted by Mudra Yoga London, however to allow the studio to maintain full flow we will be using the Scouts Hut, 48b Bouverie Rd, Stoke Newington, London N16 0AH for all our sessions, this lovely space will become our home for the 6 months.

The choice to offer the course over 6 months allow for us to fully absorb the content and gives us space to practice our learning, without feeling too much pressure or rushed to the finishing line. This course is created with the students needs in mind and after facilitating many training of different size and lengths this is how we feel is the most user friendly way to learn.

This course is a full comprehensive 200hr programme designed and led by Emily-Clare Hill. Emily has been leading trainings for many years and has a keen eye and care for continuous development. She guides and facilitates trainings, where the students is fully heard, felt and seen. With this is mind, the course will be kept to low numbers to allow a fuller energy for all to connect. Emily has been a teachers for over 12 years and study began before that as she found a practice she resonated with so deeply on both a physical and mental level. Throughout her journey she has studied in depth various styles of practice, Vinyasa Yoga, Forest Yoga, Thai Massage, Myo Fascia release, Anatomy. Her knowledge continues to grow, her mantras "once you stop learning you stop living". Emily has been guided by many great teachers her self and continues to learn from them. Emily is one of the founders of Mudra Yoga Studio in Stoke Newington and takes pride in keeping the ethos of the space one that is of yogic mind and connection, a place for all, a sacred space within the community. Emily has taught throughout London and Europe guiding, classes and trainings and retreats, each made with love and care to support a genuine connect to the wholeness of the practice.
Emily will be joined by a team of teachers & lecturers who will drop into the course to guide in their specific forte.
Paul Wong will join Emily throughout and be your main teacher for meditation.
Olivia Marley guiding the anatomy section of this course. Marley takes a modern and science-based approach to yoga. She teaches classes, workshops, trainings and retreats across the UK and Europe, and is continually fascinated with how the human body works. Before switching career to become a yoga teacher, Olivia spent over a decade studying law and working in some of the world's biggest international law firms. Those roles gave her years of experience of understanding complicated and sometimes dry information, and then explaining it in simple language to clients. As a yoga teacher, Olivia now directs her love of studying and her knack for explaining difficult to understand concepts towards teaching anatomy and physiology to other teachers and students. In Olivia's sessions you can expect clear instructions, and a light-hearted and logical approach to postures and concepts that might initially seem complicated. Olivia holds the highest designation possible from Yoga Alliance International, which is based on having completed extended periods of advanced level training and at least 2000 hours of teaching experience. This level of experience means she is also a registered provider of further education to other yoga teachers. Olivia has trained to an advanced level in vinyasa flow and also trained in Anusara yoga, yin yoga, yoga for athletes, injury prevention and yoga therapeutics. Olivia is also a certified Functional Range Conditioning mobility specialist
Bess Shipside will be joining us to share her love and knowledge of pranayama (yogic breathing exercises), through a little history, context and intelligent and appropriate use of breath when teaching.
Bess has been teaching at Mudra since its opening and is known for her breath led classes with a unique focus on yogic philosophy combined with breathing physiology - especially connecting to and balancing the creative life force- known in yoga as prana. Initially trained in the traditional hatha yoga method of Sivananda Yoga in India in which pranayama is a key aspect of daily mind-body-soul hygiene, she has since developed an intuitive personal breathing practice which forms the basis of her teaching both in the studio and in regular group 'breathing circles'.
She believes that "a regular practice of pranayama done with an attitude of relaxed awareness helps me feel alive, vibrant, healthy, clear and calm- I know myself better from the raw life sustaining principle of breath. To sit and breathe is so revealing! Like nothing else, it strips us back to our core self where it becomes possible to notice the play and interaction of mind and energy, from the individual to the universal experience". From this understanding- that the breath is a bridge between the inner and outer worlds aswell a main energy source- it is possible to add an extra dimension of depth to your classes as a teacher that connects you into the roots of the practice.
Bess is an experienced teacher with over 800 hours of training and has offered classes workshops and retreats in the UK and beyond. She has deep gratitude for the continued inspiration of her teachers who have all shaped the path so far- Savajeen A.M of Santi Yoga, Tara and Mike of Strala, Dulce and Jamie of The Yoga People and the incredible Shiva Rea, who she is currently studying with. Bess also has experience in thai massage, and is in training to be a Buteyko breathing instructor helping to restore natural breathing patterns and optimise long term health.
WHAT WILL I NEED?
You will need a notebook (choose wisely as it will be your friend throughout :) and pen, we do ask that you bring your own mat to each session and any personal props you like to use within your practice. For learning purposes we will have props but you will need your own for practice. On acceptance of your application, you will receive a reading list, we will try to keep the list short so that as not to add much expense. However you are not obliged (but it is recommended) to read this material the books will be studied throughout the course. Until then stay in the practice don't feel like you need to do any extra study the course is there for that. You will receive a manual on day one with all you need to know and we will use this throughout as well as anatomy materials.

AM I READY?
We do ask that you are fully committed before signing up to the course. It requires focused group and energy for all to fully receive from the course. However please release the idea that you need to have profound and advanced physical practice to be ready, this is not true, we just hope you are ready to step in fully and to commit and be present and open to the learning and all that may bring. To be a great teacher you don't not need to be able to "perform" complex asana. You will taught to understand the journey towards many postures but restrictions in your own practice doesn't stop you from being able to teach beyond.
- CANCELLATIONS -
Please note with the preparation for the course being based on numbers etc and also allowing the course to be smaller means we want to keep things fair and simple for all. Once you are signed up to the course no refunds will be given unless the course has to be fully cancelled and then of course refunds will be issued. If however you cannot attend, then unfortunately we cannot offer a refund unless you and have a friend who would like to come in your place (before the course has started) this is of course allowed.
If regulations adjust regarding Covid-19 and the course cannot proceed in person I will move the course online and reconfigure content to make this fit (this is something we managed in 2020 with success), so that you still receive the full learning and quality of teaching experience. However I will only do this for a maximum of 50% of the course, I don't believe the course can be fully delivered online, I believe to receive what is necessary at least half the content should be in person. Therefore we would have to reschedule dates for when we could come back together in person. If for personal reasons you are unable to join a course online, a refund will be issued, taking into to consideration how far through the course we are, or an option to complete the following year.
